  • Use higher feed rates to reduce work hardening.


3.   Coolant/Lubrication


  • Essential to manage heat and prevent work hardening.

  • Flood coolant or high-pressure coolant systems are ideal.


4.   Work Hardening


  • Stainless steel tends to harden during cutting.

  • Keep tools sharp and avoid dwelling or rubbing.


5.   Rigidity & Fixturing


  • Machine and setup must be rigid to prevent chatter.

  • Strong clamping is required due to the material’s toughness.
